Programmes strategic goals
The goals for these programmes are to maintain fiscal discipline in the province, to efficiently allocate financial resources to support Government Policy Priorities, to contribute to the eradication of poverty in the province and to develop and maintain a dynamic and learning organisation.
Strategic Objectives
The programmes objectives are to ensure that budget and expenditure management is sound and ensure full compliance with all relevant financial legislation and regulations.The programmes are also responsible management of provincial finances to achieve financial stability, and to enforce financial accountability to ensure effective, responsive, and responsible use of public resources. They must ensure that the financial, managerial and operating information reported is fair, reliable, and relevant, and render effective risk based internal audit (AI) service to provide support services in the province. The programmes also have to plan and implement a credible budget that is aligned to government priorities and the PGDP, to render effective financial management support to Provincial departments and municipalities and to facilitate the provision of infrastructural facilities and services to support growth and development in the province.They also have resposibility to position the department to become an employer of choice and implement strategies to enhance the agility and efficiency of the department. They have to render support services to the MEC for Finance and to implement measures and controls for effective financial and supply chain management programmes and policies within the department and develop and implement an effective human resource strategy that gives support to the core business of the department
