It also compares actual and estimated receipts over the financial years. The department receives a provincial allocation, as well as funding for the eight conditional grants as listed on the table. On overall, the departmental receipts increased from R37.346 billion in 2021/22 financial year to a revised estimate of R42.452 billion in 2024/25 financial year, mainly due increased allocation on equitable share. In 2025/26, the receipts are expected to increase fairly well by 5.1 per cent and continues to show a stabilised growth pattern in the outer years of the MTEF period. The equitable share allocation increased slightly by 5.1 per cent from R38.414 billion in 2024/25 revised estimate to R40.384 billion in 2025/26, due to effect of additional funding on the department%u2019s baseline, as a result of changes in new data updates of the Provincial Equitable Share (PES) formula and a further additional amount provided on personnel to address the pressures associated with public sector Wage Agreement, Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI) and a cushion on hostel catering for public schools. The outer years show a continued growth in budget due to provision for inflationary. On the other hand, conditional grant increased by 5.3 per cent from the revised estimates of 2024/25 financial year due to a positive change in all grant allocations, which saw a significant increase especially in funding for National School Nutrition Programme, Education Infrastructure Grant, and Early Childhood Development Grants. 338
