Estimates of the Provincial Revenue and Expenditure (EPRE) %u2013 2025/26 Financial YearHowever, it is acknowledged that there is still much needed to be done in the move to ensure the delivery of climate responsive and resilient infrastructure development including mainstreaming climate change in the provincial administration decision-making processes including the incorporation of climate change as a standard requirement into project design stages as well as ensuring continued compliance with National and Provincial Climate Change Policies and Guidelines. Gender responsive budgeting (GRB) update National Treasury, working with the IMF, developed a data collection method that will enable quantification of allocations towards gender priorities. In this regard, a budget tagging system was developed to assist departments to report on gender equality programmes. Nine departments were identified as part of the pilot to participate in the budget tagging exercise. Once the tagging system is effective, the pilot will be extended to more national and provincial departments. The focus areas would be: %uf0b7 Closing gender gaps in economic opportunities: lifting constraints to increase the quantity andquality of jobs of women and closing gender earnings gaps.%uf0b7 Improving women%u2019s access and ownership in respect of businesses, property, educationamong others.Currently the Province is not part of the pilot, and the National Treasury will continue to provide support in the process to all the departments that are not part of the pilot. However, Provinces are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) guidelines and start raising awareness with respect to GRB to ease departments into the process when the pilot is extended to provinces. 29
