                                    Estimates of the Provincial Revenue and Expenditure (EPRE) %u2013 2025/26 Financial YearVarious labs are planned for the development of ocean economy, Hamburg and Mbizana are in the phase of SEDF development, there is a planned oyster farming in Hamburg that will be supported by the DFFE. DPWI is currently in the process of gazetting the small harbours in Hamburg and Mbizana, while the small harbour in Port St Johns has been proclaimed as a fishing harbour. Furthermore, small scale fisheries have been allocated R10 million for infrastructure development such as cages and fishing boats. The PROBLUE funding supported by the World Bank has funded R10 million for value chains and market development of seaweed, abalone and finfish farming in Eastern Cape. In Dohne ADI, there is a planned freshwater and marine aquaculture training and research facility. Lastly, there is an ongoing safety training targeted for maritime professionals. Tourism Development: The province through the work of ECPTA aims to promote sustainable tourism in the Eastern Cape through partnerships and collaborations with different stakeholders in the sector. The intention is for the tourism sector to be inclusive of every stakeholder across its value chains. Tourism product development will be directed at eco-tourism, wildlife and biodiversity and nature conservation. As part of its plans ECPTA will be implementing the following projects over the MTEF: %uf0b7 Promote biodiversity and conservation whilst promoting game management transformationthrough stakeholder engagements across industry transformation sites.%uf0b7 Expand protected areas by increasing hectares of protected area estate, increase thenumber of wetlands rehabilitated, and increase the hectares of restored eroded lands.%uf0b7 Promote the tourism value chain development through tourism products and services,tourism enterprises marketing and development initiatives.%uf0b7 Commercialise tourism by facilitating public-private initiatives in the tourism industry andincrease the number of investment-ready packaged projects.These priorities will be funded with the following additional allocations to ECPTA: %uf0b7 For maintenance of tourist accommodation and facilities, R14.138 million in 2025/26.%uf0b7 To improving access and internal roads to tourism sites, R24 million has been allocatedcovering 58 km of roads for the 2025 MTEF period.%uf0b7 Game fencing upgrades of 70 km in six reserves have been allocated R22 million over theMTEF period.%uf0b7 SMART marketing efforts at R2.3 million in 2025/26 for SMART marketing efforts.%uf0b7 Tourism safety and security R7.073 million in 2025/26.%uf0b7 Tourism and Hospitality Services R4.364 million in 2025/26 for (Cleaning material,furniture, cutlery bedding, grading of facilities, and;%uf0b7 Plant and Equipment R4.145 million in 2025/26.The ECPTA has managed to attract additional funding from other organs of state to the amount of R50.9 million in 2025/26 and R154.560 million over the MTEF to improve its tourism offering, biodiversity and conservation efforts. Some of the funders include: %uf0b7 Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment (DFFE) for Marine protected areasamounting to R5.4 million in 2025/26 and R16.2 million over the MTEF.%uf0b7 South African National Biodiversity Institute for catalysing financing and capacity forbiodiversity economy around protected areas amounting to R3.033 million in 2025/26 andR2.691 million in 2026/27. 45
